There are four locations here that are the ONLY Popeyes that have ever used the same batter as the bone-in chicken for their sandwiches. ![]() Here's the truth and nothing but the truth straight from her: I am excited to let you know that the mystery has been solved. Ok, so I stopped by my Popeyes location yesterday and spoke with the manager. ![]() If you go and change the bone-in chicken then I know you have all lost your minds and I will have to revert to KFC for bone-in and Chik-fil-A for the sandwich, both of which are good in their own right.Īs of this writing, I will not be purchasing a sandwich from Popeyes until they bring back the original batter. To Popeyes Corporation: Please do NOT go tampering with perfection! Change the batter back to match what is being used for the BONE-IN chicken. Popeyes corporation has made a change to the batter recipe for the original chicken sandwich. Now, today I went back and got another one from the Rainbow City location thinking I would be getting the original only to find out that it's the same crap batter as well. ![]() In the following few weeks I tried the same sandwich at two other locations and they had a different batter on them and it was not good. A few weeks ago, at my normal location here in Rainbow City Alabama, the regular chicken sandwich was the same as it was last year and it was great.
